The new WFD22 digitizer module features an unprecedented DC accuracy along with outstanding dynamic performance. It is the counterpart module of the AWG22 generator for the Applicos ATX series test systems.
Where most digitizers focus on DC accuracy only, or AC accuracy only, the WFD22 performs equally well in both arenas. This is important not, only for DAC testing, but for any other application that requires a “dual domain” digitizer.
Proprietary Applicos technology is used to combine four 20 bit ADCs to create an advanced 22 bit converter. This results in excellent SNR and linearity with a resolution down to 0.1µV. The large capture memory of 32M-word (96MB) allows the capture of long waveforms.
The WFD22 achieves DC accuracies into the µVolts and AC accuracies over 100dB. Its high stability, excellent linearity and step response make it a very versatile instrument.
The module features fully differential inputs to reduce common-mode level disturbances. When used Single Ended an internal DC-offset source sets the midscale level. Further it has two dedicated input amplifiers; a 100MΩ FET input amplifier to maintain accuracy when measuring on high impedance circuits, and a 1MΩ bipolar low-noise input for measurements where the source impedance is relatively low, but noise is most important.
Three Low Pass filters (40kHz, 250kHz and 500kHz) provide excellent signal conditioning resulting in lower noise and proper anti-aliasing.
